Chicago is the superior team at 30-27 with a W3 streak and scorching L5 offense (6.2 R/G, .286/.787). Their lineup hits LHP well (.244/.782 vs LHP), directly exploiting Valdez. Detroit sits at 22-36, has struggled badly in L10 (2-8) and their own lineup is weak vs LHP (.209/.670). Anthony Kay's 3.96 ERA and 4-1 record at home give CWS a solid pitching edge despite modest numbers. Multiple hot CWS bats (Vargas, Montgomery, Peters) vs. a cooling Detroit lineup (Greene, Keith both cold) tips this to Chicago.

Washington's offense is one of the best in this slate — 5.36 R/G, .745 OPS, and a torrid L5 (5.0 R/G, .269/.809). James Wood is on a historic L14 hot streak (.396, OPS .959) and CJ Abrams and Jacob Young are also sizzling. Foster Griffin is quietly excellent at 3.63 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 6-2. San Diego's lineup is anemic (.654 OPS, 2.4 R/G in L5) with multiple cold key bats (Machado, Merrill, Bogaerts all sub-.160 in L14). Michael King is elite but he can't manufacture runs. Nationals' firepower is the clear edge here.

Both teams are underperforming and this is a bottom-tier matchup. Kansas City is 22-35 with a 4-game losing streak and only 2.6 R/G in L5, while Texas at 26-31 has a slight edge at home but limited upside (L5 4.6 R/G but .187 AVG). Lugo and Rocker are similar mid-rotation arms. Bobby Witt is cold in L14, and Texas key bats (Nimmo, Jung) also cooling. No compelling edge in either direction.

Toronto enters on a W4 streak and 8-2 in L10 with Trey Yesavage posting a sparkling 2.25 ERA/1.06 WHIP in 32 IP — one of the best starters on this slate. The Jays' offense hits RHP well (.254/.704) and has produced 4.0 R/G in L5. Baltimore's pitching is a liability (4.65 ERA, 5.22 RA/G), and Brandon Young's elevated WHIP (1.40) in limited innings is a concern. Baltimore's offense is hot in L5 (32 R in 5G) but the pitching mismatch is significant, and Giménez/Okamoto are cold for Toronto's opponents.

Pittsburgh holds a clear edge at home with Mitch Keller pitching brilliantly (3.64 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) and the Pirates' offense in strong form (5.2 R/G in L5, .262/.785). Bryan Reynolds (.346 L14), Brandon Lowe (.296 L14, 14 HR), and Konnor Griffin (.309 L14) are all hot. Minnesota's L5 offense has collapsed (3.0 R/G, .180/.549) during a 3-game skid. The Pirates at 30-28 are the superior team at home with better recent momentum against a slumping Twins squad.

Parker Messick is the best starting pitcher on this entire slate — 2.24 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 70 Ks in 64.1 IP, and a 6-1 record. Cleveland at 34-25 is the second-best team record-wise in this group. The cold wind (15 mph from NNE) at Progressive Field suppresses offense. Boston's lineup struggles vs LHP (.274 OBP overall but key hitters like Durbin cold). Contreras and Duran are hot for Boston, but Messick's elite profile outweighs the offense concerns. Cleveland's team quality and the pitching matchup strongly favor the home side.

Tampa Bay is the class of this slate at 35-19 (.648) and Drew Rasmussen is elite: 2.78 ERA, 0.98 WHIP — one of the sharpest starters on the board. The Rays' lineup is loaded: Yandy Díaz (.313/.915), Jonathan Aranda (.290/.881), and Caminero (.309 L14 hot) provide tremendous run support. Los Angeles at 22-36 sends out Reid Detmers (4.57 ERA, 1-5) against a rotation-quality Rays squad. The Angels' key bats Trout and Adell are both ice cold in L14. This is a multi-factor edge for Tampa Bay.

Tyler Phillips has been exceptional (1.07 ERA in 33.2 IP) and Miami's top of the lineup is legitimate: Xavier Edwards (.319/.891, hot), Otto Lopez (.336/.835), and Jakob Marsee heating up (.261 L14). The Mets are 24-33 and 3-7 in L10 with an anemic offense (.643 OPS, 3.4 R/G in L5) — their lowest in the league. Christian Scott has only 25.1 IP of data. Cold temps and a strong N wind blowing in at Citi Field suppresses any home power surge. Miami's pitching edge combined with the Mets' offensive malaise tips this toward the Marlins.

This is a fascinating cross-current game. Milwaukee is 34-20 and on a W4 streak — the better team — but they're sending out Brandon Sproat (5.84 ERA, 1.54 WHIP), their worst starter. Houston's pitching staff is dreadful (5.02 ERA) but Peter Lambert has been solid (3.79 ERA). Yordan Alvarez (.301/1.056 OPS, 20 HR) anchors a strong Astros offense, and Houston's L5 (5.8 R/G) is explosive. Milwaukee's L5 offense has cooled (3.8 R/G). The team quality edge to Milwaukee is negated by the starting pitching disadvantage tonight.

Ben Brown has been one of the pleasant surprises of 2026 — 2.01 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a strong K rate. Kyle Leahy by contrast posts a 4.44 ERA and bloated 1.58 WHIP — a below-average starter. Chicago's L5 shows 4.8 R/G and .258/.724. The Cubs at 31-27 are the stronger team vs. a Cardinals squad that is 3-7 in L10 and scored only 2.8 R/G in L5. Ian Happ (.829 OPS) and Bregman are solid contributors. While CHC is 2-8 in L10, the pitching matchup is decisively in their favor tonight.

Atlanta is the best team on this slate at 39-19 (.672) and this is a dominant multi-factor edge. Martín Pérez is sharp (2.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP), while Brady Singer is one of the worst starters on this board (6.26 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 2-4). The Braves hit RHP well (.267/.778) and their L5 shows 5.2 R/G. Michael Harris II (.305/.868, .305 L14) and Matt Olson are carrying the offense. Cincinnati's ERA (4.71) and Singer's numbers project Atlanta to score freely. Great American Ball Park plays as a moderate hitter-friendly park, amplifying Atlanta's offensive advantage.

Coors Field creates enormous variance that makes confident picks nearly impossible. Both starters are poor (Houser 5.30 ERA, Feltner 6.30 ERA in 20 IP). Both teams are struggling — SF at 22-35 on a 4-game losing streak and COL at 21-37. The Giants have Luis Arraez (.329/.804, scorching .385 L14) and Casey Schmitt (.289/.879) in form. But Houser's track record at Coors is a disaster waiting to happen. The two bad teams and two bad pitchers at the most volatile park in baseball equals no actionable edge.

New York is on a 5-game winning streak, 7-3 in L10, and their L5 offense is the best on the entire slate (7.2 R/G, .326/.957). Ben Rice (.303/1.047 OPS, 17 HR) and Aaron Judge (.929 OPS) headline a truly elite lineup. Ryan Weathers is solid (3.14 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 65 Ks) against an Athletics lineup that hits LHP poorly (.239/.666). Oakland is on a 4-game losing streak with only 2.2 R/G in L5. Ginn is decent (3.19 ERA) but the talent gap between these rosters is enormous, and the Yankees are firing on all cylinders.

Seattle's L5 is scorching (7.0 R/G, .318/.908) with a W4 streak, and Bryan Woo is quietly excellent (3.82 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 59 Ks). Ketel Marte (.433 L14!) and Corbin Carroll (.368 L14, .936 OPS) are on fire for Arizona, creating a real tension point — but Ryne Nelson is the weaker arm (4.65 ERA, 2-3). Seattle's home lineup also hits RHP well (.245/.748). T-Mobile Park is a pitcher's park helping Woo, and the cool weather (58°F, wind in from N) further suppresses offense and hurts Arizona's offense advantage. The pitching + home form edge goes to Seattle.

Los Angeles is the best team in this game at 37-20 on a 6-game win streak with elite offense (.788 OPS, 5.3 R/G) and pitching (3.10 ERA). Shohei Ohtani's L14 (.412 AVG) is historic and the entire Dodgers lineup hits LHP well (.255/.784). Philadelphia enters ice cold in L5 (2.6 R/G, .173/.575) and Luzardo has a pedestrian 4.38 ERA. The concern is Sasaki's elevated ERA (4.93) and WHIP (1.42) — he's been inconsistent — but the team quality gap and LA's offensive firepower are simply too significant to overlook. Schwarber is hot for Philly but can't carry the team alone.
