Baltimore's Brandon Young has a strong ERA (3.35) but elevated WHIP (1.37). Both teams are .476 — essentially even records. The matchup is too close to call with confidence given the small Yesavage sample and Baltimore's hot offense.

The Pirates hit only .250/.684 vs LHP which is a meaningful split disadvantage against Pérez. While Pittsburgh has been on a hot streak (6.9 R/G L10), their offense will face a tougher left-handed arm. The Braves' pitching and overall team quality provide a clear 2-factor edge.

This is a true coin flip. Both teams have mediocre records (Athletics 30-32, Astros 28-36), and both starters are flawed — Perkins has a 5.46 ERA with a small 28-IP sample, while Lambert's 3.77 ERA is more stable in 45 IP. Houston's Yordan Alvarez (1.077 OPS, .314 L14) is a difference-maker, but the Astros' team ERA (5.03) and WHIP (1.45) are dreadful. The Athletics offense has been cold (3.8 R/G L10) with several icy bats. Both bullpens are suspect. No clear edge.

Both teams have significant flaws here. Brady Singer is having a dreadful season (6.18 ERA, 1.69 WHIP) and the Reds' offense vs RHP is weak (.228/.696). The Cardinals counter with Kyle Leahy (4.25 ERA, 1.56 WHIP — elevated) and an offense that has collapsed to 3.0 R/G over the last 10. STL is on a 3-7 L10 skid despite the winning streak. The Cardinals' lineup is riddled with cold bats (Gorman .093 L14, Pagés .175 L14, Winn .180 L14, Fermín .156 L14). Neither team presents a compelling case — this is a battle of flawed pitching vs cold offenses.

Parker Messick has been outstanding (2.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 74 K in 69.1 IP) and is the best pitcher on the mound in this game by a wide margin. Texas hits only .214/.636 vs LHP, a significant split disadvantage against Messick. The Rangers have several cold bats (Seager .115 L14, Jansen .125 L14, Nimmo .189 L14, Carter .167 L14). Cleveland's offense vs RHP is modest (.222/.677), but Messick's dominance creates a strong pitching edge. The Guardians' team ERA (3.73) is solid. The main caveat is Cleveland's L10 5-5 record and modest R/G (3.5) showing their offense has been quiet lately.

Michael Wacha (3.23 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) is the best pitcher in this matchup and gives KC the edge on the mound, but the Royals are 25-38 with a poor offense (3.9 R/G) and multiple cold bats (Witt .214 L14, Isbel .158 L14, Jensen .160 L14). Minnesota's Zebby Matthews is in a tiny sample (23.1 IP) but has been decent. The Brewers are a superior team (37-23) and have the better overall profile, but Sproat is a major liability (6.24 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) — starting at Coors Field, this is a disaster setup. Coors Field neutralizes pitching advantages and Feltner (4.85 ERA) is also hittable. The Brewers offense has been decent (5.5 R/G L10) but multiple hitters are cold (Turang .239 L14, Bauers .213 L14, Rengifo .178 L14). The Rockies offense at Coors is dangerous (5.4 R/G L10, TJ Rumfield .326 L14, Tyler Freeman .320 L14 hot). Sproat starting at Coors is enough to make Milwaukee a pass despite their record advantage.

The Diamondbacks hit a robust .279/.785 vs LHP against Griffin, who is left-handed — this is a meaningful split advantage for AZ. Ketel Marte (.368 L14) is scorching hot and Corbin Carroll (.311) adds quality. However, Merrill Kelly has struggled (5.06 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) and the Nationals have elite individual bats — James Wood (.928 OPS) and CJ Abrams (.903 OPS) are dangerous. Washington is 5.25 R/G overall. The D-backs' recent form is concerning (3.7 R/G L10) and 104°F heat in Phoenix could affect both clubs. The split advantage for AZ vs the LHP is real but Kelly's poor ERA undermines confidence in a clean pick.

The Padres are in a catastrophic 1-9 L10 skid with a 5-game losing streak and have scored only 2.6 R/G over the last 10. Their offense (.216 AVG, .651 OPS) is among the worst in baseball right now, with multiple cold bats (Bogaerts .143 L14, Fermin .030 L14, Sheets .174 L14, Andujar .157 L14, Machado .154 L14). Michael King is solid (3.18 ERA), but Christian Scott's 2.97 ERA and elite strikeout rate (38 K in 30.1 IP) is impressive for his sample. The Mets' Juan Soto (.321 L14, .943 OPS) is a major bat. Petco Park suppresses offense, which hurts an already-cold Padres lineup. The Mets are +109 underdogs with a credible pitching matchup and their opponent in freefall.

The Dodgers are a powerhouse team (40-23, .635, team ERA 3.08, WHIP 1.07) facing the worst team on the slate (Angels 24-39, ERA 4.85, WHIP 1.46). Shohei Ohtani is on a tear (.415 L14, .941 OPS) and the Dodgers are 5.6 R/G over the last 10. While Sasaki has struggled (4.59 ERA), the overall team quality gap is enormous — the Dodgers allow only 3.13 R/G and their offense is the best in this slate (.787 OPS). The Angels' starter is TBD, which adds risk to Los Angeles but also uncertainty for LA's bats. The -199 price is steep and limits value, but on pure team quality the Dodgers are a clear winner.
