Milwaukee's lineup is red-hot — six of their starters carry 🔥 designations over the last 14 games including Contreras (.404), Chourio (.361), Yelich (.327), Mitchell (.326), Ortiz (.326), and Hamilton (.295) — and they're scoring 5.6 R/G over their last 10. The Brewers are the best team in this slate at 87-53 and on a W2 streak. Chicago's offense has been scalding (8.6 R/G L10) but that's partially a small-sample surge, and Gausman's ERA and WHIP are a real liability. At -115, Milwaukee is a clear value play.

Sandy Alcantara (3.46 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 13-8, 189.2 IP) is a clear ace-level arm and holds a meaningful edge over Michael Wacha (3.32 ERA, 1.10 WHIP) — the difference is Alcantara's durability, strikeout volume (140 Ks), and ability to limit free passes. Kansas City (62-78) is a below-.500 club with a shaky team ERA (4.63) and is on a 3-game losing streak. Miami's lineup hits .254/.738 vs. RHP with Stowers 🔥 and Sanoja 🔥 providing hot bats. The near-pick-em line (-102) on Alcantara against a losing KC team with bullpen concerns is a modest value.

Shane McClanahan (3.19 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 10-6) provides a real pitching edge over Cal Quantrill (3.01 ERA, 1.10 WHIP) — the ERA/WHIP are similar but McClanahan's 103 Ks in 113 IP demonstrate elite swing-and-miss ability that Quantrill (68 Ks in 89.2 IP) lacks. Tampa Bay (83-56) is one of the elite teams in baseball and Junior Caminero (.897 OPS, .333 L14 🔥) anchors a lineup scoring 4.99 R/G with a .738 OPS. Texas's lineup hits .257/.757 vs. LHP which is their better split, and they've been hot offensively (5.6 R/G L10), but Duran 🔥 and Seager 🔥 aside, several regulars are cold. At -130, Tampa is a reasonable play as the better team with the better pitcher.

This game features two genuinely poor pitchers — Perkins at 6.42 ERA/1.49 WHIP and Anderson with only 10 innings of MLB experience (4.50 ERA) making this essentially an unknown quantity for Seattle. The massive -217 price on the Mariners is hard to justify given Anderson's extreme lack of a track record and Seattle's below-average offense (.700 OPS, 4.22 R/G) with multiple cold hitters (Ward ❄️, Rodríguez ❄️, Young ❄️). Oakland's lineup has been hot recently (5 R/G L10, .279/.792) with Butler 🔥, McNeil 🔥, and Williams 🔥. The Athletics are 54-86 but at +177 with a legitimately surging offense, this is too risky to fade at -217 on an untested starter.

Tarik Skubal (2.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 153 Ks in 126.2 IP) is an elite ace and the pitching edge over Quinn Mathews (5.03 ERA, 1.58 WHIP in only 19.2 IP) is overwhelming. The Dodgers are a 82-57 powerhouse with Ohtani, Freeman (.373 L14 🔥), Betts (.288 🔥), and Muncy (.831 OPS). However, the -311 moneyline requires an extraordinary edge to generate value — implied probability north of 75.7%.
