Gavin Williams holds a meaningful edge over Sean Burke in this RHP-vs-RHP matchup — Williams carries a superior WHIP (1.11 vs 1.20), a significantly higher strikeout total (248 K in 184.1 IP), and a better win-loss record (14-8 vs 11-7), making him the clear top pitcher on the slate. Cleveland's pitching staff also leads on team ERA (3.61 vs 4.01) and RA/G (4.12 vs 4.43), providing structural depth behind Williams. The Guardians have been the hotter team over the last 10 games (8-2 vs CWS's 7-3) and their lineup has posted a strong .265/.807 AVG/OPS over the last 10 games; both lineups face a RHP, a neutral split for CLE (.242/.706) that is nonetheless better than their LHP splits. CWS's lineup has mixed signals — Meidroth, Antonacci, and Braden Montgomery are hot, but Montgomery (SS) and Peters are ice cold, and Williams's high K-rate will be a factor. The Guardians ML at -142 is neutral value territory, and the edge here is real but moderate — this is a lean rather than a strong play.
