Gausman (ERA 3.23, WHIP 1.05) is a clear edge over Pérez (ERA 4.91, WHIP 1.30) on the mound. Toronto's offense has been hot over the last 5 games (4.4 R/G, OPS .780), and the Blue Jays hit RHP well (.255/.704). Marlins' L5 offense has been cold (3.8 R/G, OPS .681) with several key hitters in cold streaks (Hicks ❄️, Norby ❄️). Rogers Centre is a moderate hitter-friendly dome that neutralizes weather.

Gavin Williams (ERA 3.25, WHIP 1.13, 84 K in 69.1 IP) is one of the better starters in this slate and a significant edge over the lightly-tested Poulin (only 23.2 IP). Cleveland hits LHP at .249/.732 — a favorable split against Poulin. Washington's lineup has hot bats (Wood 🔥, Young 🔥, CJ Abrams), but their pitching staff ERA (4.72) and WHIP (1.37) are problematic. Cleveland's team ERA (3.67) and RA/G (3.95) are among the best in the AL.

Milwaukee is the class of the NL Central (32-20, .615) and boasts a dominant pitching staff (team ERA 3.19, RA/G 3.46). Chad Patrick has been excellent (ERA 2.63, WHIP 1.20) while Dustin May has struggled (ERA 5.00, WHIP 1.43). The Cardinals are on a 3-game losing streak with a cold L5 (3.4 R/G, OPS .620). Brewers' offense hits RHP at .259/.733, and key hitters Contreras 🔥 and Bauers 🔥 are scorching. NE wind at 9 mph at American Family Field slightly suppresses offense.

This is a muddled matchup between two mediocre teams. Seattle hits LHP poorly (.199/.606 — a significant negative split), which is a big concern against Springs. However, the A's offense has been dreadful in L5 (2.2 R/G, OPS .625) with multiple cold hitters (Langeliers ❄️, McNeil ❄️). Gilbert (ERA 4.04) and Springs (ERA 4.11) are comparable. Both teams are sitting around .480-.490. Too many offsetting factors to find clear value.

Arizona is scorching hot (9-1 in L10, 4-game winning streak) with a remarkable L5 showing (5.8 R/G, OPS .820). Ketel Marte 🔥 (.424 L14) and Corbin Carroll 🔥 (.404 L14) are two of the hottest bats in baseball right now. Soroka (ERA 3.27, WHIP 1.25) is a clear upgrade over McDonald (ERA 4.76 in just 22.2 IP — very small sample). San Francisco (22-33) is one of the worst teams in baseball and in a 2-game losing streak. Oracle Park's cool temps (66°F) and mild westerly wind are neutral.

Cristopher Sánchez is arguably the best starter on this entire slate — ERA 1.62, WHIP 1.15, 86 K in 72.1 IP is elite production. San Diego's lineup against LHP is dreadful (.213/.602), and their L5 offense has collapsed (2.8 R/G, OPS .618). Machado ❄️, Merrill ❄️, and Bogaerts ❄️ are all deep in cold streaks. Buehler (ERA 5.05, WHIP 1.40) has struggled badly. Petco Park and W wind suppress offense further. Philadelphia is on a 2-game win streak.

Tampa Bay (34-18, .654) is the best team in baseball by record and brings Matz (ERA 3.70, WHIP 1.11) against a TBD Baltimore starter. Baltimore's team ERA (4.73) and RA/G (5.33) are among the worst in the AL, and the Orioles (25-30) have been mediocre all season. Baltimore hits LHP poorly (.215/.647). The Rays have a loaded lineup with Caminero, Aranda, and Yandy Díaz all producing. Camden Yards is a slight hitter-friendly park but the pitching edge for Tampa is clear.

José Soriano has been exceptional (ERA 2.44, WHIP 1.07, 74 K in 66.1 IP) and is a clear pitching edge over Mize (ERA 2.47 but only 43.2 IP — smaller sample). The Angels (21-34) are on a surprising 4-game winning streak with an excellent L5 (5.6 R/G, OPS .777). Detroit is the worst team in baseball by recent form (1-9 in L10), and their L5 offense is cold (3.6 R/G, OPS .619). Despite their poor overall record, the Angels have real value as the sharper pitching/form side today.

Chicago's Cubs are in freefall — a historic 0-10 last 10 games with a brutal L5 (1.8 R/G, OPS .554). Multiple cold hitters throughout their lineup (Hoerner ❄️, Happ ❄️, Crow-Armstrong ❄️). Taillon (ERA 5.20, WHIP 1.27) has struggled. Pittsburgh is riding a 3-game win streak, is tied in record (29-26), and hits RHP at .253/.741. Chandler has a poor W-L (1-6) but ERA 4.60 — not as bad as his record suggests. Pittsburgh's offense (.724 OPS, 4.91 R/G) outpaces Chicago's output.

Bryce Elder (ERA 1.97, WHIP 0.99, 68.2 IP) is the second-best starter on this slate and a massive edge over Early (ERA 3.33). Atlanta (37-18, .673) is the best team in baseball by record with a superior offense (OPS .756, 5.25 R/G) and elite pitching staff (team ERA 3.09). Boston is 22-31, on a 4-game losing streak, and their lineup hits RHP at a weak .230/.668. Elder is dominant and Boston's offense has been inconsistent. Fenway's W wind (11 mph) slightly helps offense but Elder's command negates that.

The Mets (22-33) are in a 5-game losing streak with a catastrophically cold L5 offense (1.2 R/G, OPS .480) — one of the worst short-term outputs on this slate. Their team OPS (.641) and R/G (3.82) are among the worst in the NL. Cincinnati (29-25) arrives on a 3-game win streak with a torrid L5 (6.2 R/G, OPS .777). Elly De La Cruz (OPS .867), Sal Stewart (OPS .830), and Steer 🔥 are dangerous. Brazobán's small sample (26 IP) makes his elite numbers fragile. Abbott (ERA 3.97) is serviceable against a weak Mets lineup.

Davis Martin has been exceptional (ERA 2.04, WHIP 1.02, 66 K in 61.2 IP, 7-1 record) — elite numbers across the board. Chicago's lineup hits LHP at .240/.781, a real split advantage against Prielipp. Murakami (19 HR, OPS .917), Vargas (OPS .837), and Montgomery (OPS .792) form a dangerous middle-of-the-order against a southpaw. Prielipp has limited MLB experience (29 IP), adding uncertainty. Minnesota's bats are coming in lukewarm against an elite pitcher.

Gerrit Cole's return is a massive edge — even with a tiny sample (6.0 IP), his presence against a struggling KC team (22-33, 3-7 L10) is significant. The Yankees (33-22) have been on fire in L5 (4.6 R/G, OPS .886, AVG .307) and hit LHP at .252/.815 — a strong split advantage against Cameron (ERA 4.72, WHIP 1.45). Judge, Bellinger, Rice, and a scorching Jazz Chisholm 🔥 give New York a loaded lineup. Kansas City's offense is cold (L5: 3.4 R/G, OPS .608) and their pitching is below-average.

Jacob deGrom (ERA 3.86, WHIP 1.02, 64 K in 53.2 IP) is a clear pitching edge over Burrows (ERA 5.75, WHIP 1.53) — Burrows is one of the worst starters in today's slate. Houston's pitching staff is also a liability (team ERA 5.16, RA/G 5.20). Texas hits RHP at .240/.714 with Jake Burger 🔥 (.340 L14) and a capable lineup. Globe Life Field plays neutral and the near-calm winds (3 mph) don't favor offense either way. Despite both teams' mediocre records, deGrom gives Texas a clear edge.

This is the most lopsided matchup on the slate. Shohei Ohtani (ERA 0.73, WHIP 0.84, 54 K in 49 IP) is historically dominant right now, and the Dodgers (35-20) are on an 8-2 L10 run with a volcanic L5 offense (7.4 R/G, OPS .864). Ohtani himself is 🔥 (.327 L14) as a hitter too. Colorado (20-36) is one of the worst teams in baseball, on a 4-game losing streak, and Sugano (28 K in 53.2 IP) is well below average in strikeout rate. The Dodgers hit RHP at .263/.780 against a soft arm.
