DJ Herz is a massive red flag with a 9.00 ERA and 1.75 WHIP over just 4 innings — essentially untested and wildly ineffective. Manaea is mediocre (4.67 ERA) but a clear upgrade. The Nationals hit .261/.770 vs LHP (a genuine split advantage), but their L14 lineup shows several cold hitters and a 5-game run of weak offensive production. The Mets have Juan Soto (.309 L14), Carson Benge (.351 L14), and Brett Baty (.375 L14) providing heat at the plate. The pitching mismatch is enough to lean Mets despite flat moneyline odds.

Both starters are problematic. Rodríguez has a 5.40 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in just 26.2 IP — a clear liability — but Shane Baz is also pedestrian (4.11 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 6-15 record). The Yankees' team ERA (3.17) and overall roster quality edge Baltimore, but their offense vs RHP dips to .229/.714 and several key hitters are cold (García Jr. ❄️, Caballero ❄️). Baltimore has legitimate pop (Alonso 43 HR, CES .327 L14) and good recent form (6-4 L10). The -142 price on NYY requires a stronger edge than this muddled pitching matchup provides.

Imanaga (3.74 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 171 K in 173.1 IP) is one of the better starters on the slate and faces a Boston team whose starter is TBD — a significant pitching mismatch. The Cubs' offense (.767 OPS, 5.34 R/G) is the strongest on the slate and features Michael Busch (.333 L14) and Seiya Suzuki (.296 L14) among their hot hitters. Boston's offense vs LHP is decent (.248/.733) but their last 10 games show only 2.2 R/G and multiple cold hitters (Abreu ❄️, Contreras ❄️, Monasterio ❄️). At -126, the Cubs offer fair value with a clear pitching and offensive edge.

Peter Lambert (3.87 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 153 K in 153.2 IP) is a solid starter against Seth Johnson, who has a 6.19 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in just 32 IP. The Astros are scorching offensively (5.2 R/G last 10, .269 AVG/.858 OPS) led by Yordan Alvarez (.367 L14, 1.036 OPS) and Yainer Diaz (.365 L14). The Athletics have a 5.45 team ERA and are 64-97 on the season — one of the worst teams in baseball. The -193 price is steep, but the edge is real and multi-layered across pitching and offense.

The Dodgers are clearly the superior team (99-62, top-tier OPS and ERA) but their starter is TBD, which undermines the pitching gate requirement for a strong lean. Seymour has a 4.70 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in limited exposure (30.2 IP), and the Giants are 65-96 on a 4-game losing streak with a weak lineup. However, -250 is a punishing price for an unknown pitching matchup — the Pitching Gate cannot be cleared without knowing who's starting, and that price offers minimal return for the risk. Pass until starter is confirmed.

This is an elite pitching matchup that cuts both ways. Martinez (2.94 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 15-5) vs Wheeler (3.06 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 188 K) is as balanced as it gets at the top. Tampa Bay (98-63) is the better team on paper and on record, but Phillies' Wheeler is a genuine ace. The Phillies offense is brutal lately (2.8 R/G L5, 4-game losing streak) while the Rays offense vs RHP is solid (.263/.751). The Rays have a slight edge in team quality and Martinez's ERA is marginally better, but at +144 the lines suggest value for TB — however, Wheeler neutralizes their offensive advantage enough to pass.

Max Scherzer's 6.14 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 77.2 IP is alarming for a veteran, and the Blue Jays offense hits just .229/.657 vs LHP — a meaningful weakness against Williamson. However, Williamson himself is shaky (4.89 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) and the Reds lineup has significant cold spots (Hayes .040 L14, McLain .156 L14). Toronto is favored at -181, which is steep for a team with a poor split vs LHP and an ERA-challenged Scherzer. Neither side presents a compelling edge — both starters are below average and both lineups are struggling. Pass.

Parker Messick is one of the best starters on the slate today (2.55 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 191 K in 183.1 IP) and faces a Royals team that hits just .246/.697 vs LHP — a clear split disadvantage. Cleveland is surging (9-1 L10, W3 streak, 5.8 R/G last 10) while KC is 2-8 in their last 10 and on a 3-game losing streak. Steven Kwan (.353 L14), Angel Martínez (.333 L14), and Travis Bazzana (.280 L14) give Messick a hot lineup to work with. At -112, this is solid value for a team with dominant pitching and elite recent form.

River Ryan has an immaculate 0.00 ERA but in just 3 innings — a completely meaningless sample. Jared Jones (3.87 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 118 K in 97.2 IP) is the better-documented starter and gives Pittsburgh an edge on the mound. However, Detroit's lineup has been genuinely hot recently (Riley Greene .340 L14, Spencer Torkelson .349 L14, Max Clark .340 L14, Hao-Yu Lee .310 L14) and their home offense vs RHP is solid (.242/.725). The lines are essentially a pick'em (-117/-103) with too much uncertainty around Ryan's true capability. Pass on the murky pitching picture.

San Diego is scorching hot (8-2 L10, 6.3 R/G last 10, .291/.822 OPS last 10) with multiple lineup contributors on fire — Tatis (.339 L14), Merrill (.321 L14), Bogaerts (.354 L14), Cronenworth (.340 L14), France (.333 L14). Soroka (3.31 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) is a strong starter, but Arizona hits only .235/.698 vs RHP — a real split disadvantage at home. Vásquez (4.01 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) is the weaker pitcher, but at +123 the Padres represent genuine value given their elite recent form and hot lineup. The pitching score stays below 70 so this is capped as a lean.

Logan Gilbert (3.81 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 197 K in 182 IP) is a genuine ace-caliber arm facing a 62-99 Angels team that is one of the worst in baseball. Kikuchi has been poor this season (4.88 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) and the Mariners' lineup features Randy Arozarena (.364 L14, .863 OPS) and Julio Rodríguez (.345 L14) in blazing form. The Angels hit only .232/.673 vs RHP and score just 3.4 R/G. Gilbert should dominate a weak lineup. At -168 the price is somewhat steep but the pitching and team quality edges are clear.

Both starters are middling (Gore 4.59 ERA, Kremer 4.97 ERA) and both offenses are underwhelming vs the opposing pitcher's handedness. Minnesota hits only .233/.677 vs LHP — a real weakness against Gore — while Texas hits .234/.693 vs RHP. The Rangers' L5 offense has been weak (4.1 R/G, .224/.660) and Minnesota's lineup has cold key bats (Lewis .167 L14, Jeffers .143 L14). Neither team presents a compelling edge, and the lines are nearly a pick'em. This is a genuine pass.

Kyle Freeland has been dreadful (6.58 ERA, 1.52 WHIP in 131.1 IP) and the White Sox hit .238/.748 vs LHP — a solid split advantage. Chicago's lineup is genuinely hot recently (6.4 R/G last 10) with Meidroth (.360 L14), Antonacci (.348 L14), Connor Norby comparables, and Grichuk (.318 L14) contributing. Anthony Kay (4.53 ERA) is flawed but in a different tier than Freeland. The Rockies are 58-103, on a 2-8 L10 skid, and Freeland's ERA makes him one of the worst starters on today's slate. The -174 price limits value but the pitching mismatch is real.

Atlanta (94-67) is a clear class above Miami (79-82) in overall team quality, and despite JR Ritchie's mediocre numbers (4.79 ERA, 1.46 WHIP), the Braves lineup has multiple players in red-hot form — Michael Harris II (.373 L14), Drake Baldwin (.350 L14), Mauricio Dubón (.365 L14), and Mike Yastrzemski (.270 L14). At +100 money line, the Braves represent genuine value as a superior team at even money against a Marlins team whose offense has cooled (3.7 R/G L5) and whose Junk offers no real advantage. The pitching edge is slight (both starters are flawed), but team quality and hot lineup bats tip the scale.

Jacob Misiorowski is the most dominant starter on the slate by a significant margin — 1.86 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and a staggering 247 strikeouts in 169.1 IP (15-5 record). He faces a Cardinals team on a 3-game losing streak, scoring just 3.1 R/G over their last 10, with a .187 AVG and .547 OPS in the last 5 games. Multiple Cardinals hitters are ice cold (Herrera .167 L14, Walker .149 L14, Winn .158 L14). Milwaukee's offense hits .263/.758 vs RHP (favorable split), is 8-2 L10 on a 4-game winning streak, and has Brice Turang (.388 L14) and Chourio (.269 L14) as lineup anchors. Despite the -206 price, Misiorowski's elite profile combined with Cardinal offensive collapse creates a dominant multi-factor edge.
