The pitching matchup is the defining factor here. Nick Martinez (3.10 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 15-6) is a clear and significant edge over Shawn Armstrong (4.58 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 35.1 IP as a starter — a thin sample that raises concerns). Tampa Bay's rotation has been one of the best in baseball (3.61 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) and their offense, while cold over the L5 (3.8 R/G), carries a superior season profile (OPS .734, 4.93 R/G). Cleveland's hot recent form (8-2 L10, 5.3 R/G L5) keeps this from being a strong lean, but the pitching gap tips the balance toward Tampa Bay at a near-even moneyline price (-114).
