Tampa Bay is the class of the AL this year at 34-15, W5 streak, 8-2 L10, and a blistering 7 R/G in last 5 games (.857 OPS). Rasmussen has been solid (3.19 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). The Yankees are 4-6 L10, L3 streak, and their top bats are all cold: Judge (.176 L14), Bellinger (.204 L14), Rice (.186 L14). New York hits only .230/.736 vs RHP. Weathers (3.58 ERA) is decent but Tampa's firepower — Caminero (.861 OPS), Aranda (.814 OPS), Díaz (.888 OPS) — is formidable even against a solid lefty. Brady Singer has been terrible this season — 6.26 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 2-4 record. St. Louis hits .226/.742 vs LHP at home — a favorable split for Cincinnati — but Singer's alarming numbers outweigh that edge. The Cardinals' offense has been excellent in L5 (5.0 R/G, .772 OPS) with Jordan Walker (.966 OPS, 15 HR), Herrera (🔥 L14) and Burleson (🔥 L14) all in form. Great American Ball Park is a launching pad at 72°F, and Cincinnati's rotation is one of the worst ERA units in baseball (4.78). Liberatore is a concern (4.70 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) but Singer is a significantly worse option.

Tyler Phillips has been exceptional in limited work — 1.20 ERA, 1.27 WHIP in 30 IP. The Mets are ice cold: 2.8 R/G in L5, .555 OPS L5, and their lineup is almost uniformly struggling (.217/.582 from Bichette, .218/.571 from Semien). Christian Scott is making his way back (19.2 IP sample, 4.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) — limited track record. Miami's home park suppresses offense and their .696 OPS lineup has shown better recent form. However, Phillips' ERA is due for regression and both offenses are weak. A marginal lean on Phillips/Miami at home.

Bryan Woo has been one of the more quietly effective starters in the AL — 3.51 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 55 Ks in 59 IP. Kansas City is 2-8 L10, 21-31 overall, and their L5 offense is putrid (2.0 R/G, .533 OPS). Seth Lugo's WHIP has ballooned to 1.40 while Seattle hits .238/.725 vs RHP. Seattle's Arozarena is red hot (.844 OPS, .340 L14) and Julio Rodriguez provides upside. The Royals' only bright spot is Bobby Witt Jr. (.838 OPS). Woo's command advantage over Lugo and KC's awful recent form make Seattle a credible lean despite their own modest L5 (2.8 R/G).

Yamamoto (3.32 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) is significantly better than Sproat (5.75 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) and that gap drives this pick. LA is 32-20, 8-2 L10, with a .774 team OPS — the best lineup in this slate. Ohtani is blazing (.357 L14), Hernández is 🔥 (.388 L14), and the Dodgers hit .262/.775 vs RHP. Sproat has been lit up all year (5.75 ERA in 40+ IP). Milwaukee's lineup hits .258/.730 vs RHP but their L5 has been strong (5.4 R/G) — the Brewers are competitive. However, the pitching differential here is decisive and LAD's offensive depth is unmatched on this slate.

Imanaga is the better pitcher (3.38 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 61 Ks) and leans Cubs, but Chicago is on a brutal L7 losing streak with only 1.4 R/G in the last 5 games and an anemic .466 OPS L5. Nearly the entire Cubs lineup is cold (Hoerner, Happ, Crow-Armstrong all ❄️). Houston's top bats (Alvarez, Walker, Paredes, Smith) are all cold too. Weather data unavailable. Imanaga's excellence is offset by a completely broken Cubs offense — this is a pass given the offensive uncertainty on both sides.

Both pitchers are southpaws with mediocre numbers (Schultz 4.93 ERA, Ray 4.28 ERA) and both offenses are LHH-heavy, creating poor splits on both sides. CWS hits only .242/.775 vs LHP but that .775 OPS figure stands out — while SF hits only .245/.646 vs LHP. Oracle Park's strong WSW wind (12 mph, in from right field) suppresses offense. The matchup is muddled with two similar-quality lefties, cold L5 offense from Chicago (3.8 R/G), and a Giants team that is 21-31. No clear edge.

Arizona's split advantage is the headline: they hit .277/.777 vs LHP against Quintana, and Corbin Carroll (.934 OPS, .333 L14 🔥) and Ketel Marte (.339 L14 🔥) are both scorching. The D-backs are 7-3 L10, 27-24 overall, and at home in a 97°F desert heat. Quintana (4.08 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, only 20 Ks in 39.2 IP) is a soft-tossing lefty that Arizona's lineup profile should feast on. Colorado is L1, 3-7 L10, cold offensively (2.4 R/G L5) and Quintana's low K-rate compounds the risk. Ryne Nelson is shaky (5.19 ERA) but AZ's offensive edge vs the matchup is clear.

Michael King is among the best starters in the NL this year — 2.31 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 59 Ks in 58.1 IP. San Diego is 31-20, 7-3 L10, W2 streak, and plays in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park with cool 64°F temps and an inward NW breeze. Medina has just 18.2 IP in his sample (2.41 ERA) — too small to trust at scale. Oakland's key bats are diverging: Kurtz (🔥, .933 OPS) but Langeliers, Soderstrom, McNeil all ❄️. San Diego's offense is cold (2.8 R/G L5) but King's dominance makes this about keeping Oakland quiet rather than scoring big.

Atlanta is the best team in baseball at 36-17 (.679) with a 3.06 team ERA and 5.3 R/G. Martín Pérez has been outstanding (2.85 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) and Atlanta hits .259/.745 vs LHP — solid numbers against Griffin. The Braves' L5 is elite (6.2 R/G, 31 runs). Washington is 5.68 RA/G and their pitching staff (4.87 ERA) is stretched. Griffin is competent (4.02 ERA) but Washington's lineup defense — especially against Atlanta's deep offense — is suspect. While WSH has real bats (Wood .913 OPS, Abrams .929 OPS), Atlanta at home with a quality starter is a strong play.

Texas has been red-hot in their L5 — 5.8 R/G, .907 OPS, .314 AVG — with Jake Burger (🔥 .327 L14) and Josh Jung (.302 AVG) leading the charge. The Angels are 19-34, one of the worst records in MLB, with a 4.88 ERA and Detmers sporting a bloated 5.07 ERA. Despite hitting only .219/.629 vs LHP, Texas's recent offensive explosion (7-game stretch) suggests real momentum. LAA's own offense is inconsistent — several key bats cold (Trout, Adell, Soler all ❄️). Gore has struggled this year (4.78 ERA) but Texas's run-production peak and LA's pitching liability lean the Rangers' way.
