Braxton Ashcraft is having a strong season (ERA 3.28, WHIP 1.08, 86 K in 79.2 IP) and holds a clear edge over Alcantara (ERA 4.33). Pittsburgh's offense is producing at 5.9 R/G over their last 10 games and hits RHP well (.258/.766), with several hot bats including Mangum (.390 L14) and Reynolds (.300 L14). Miami is on a W5 streak but their offense has real gaps — Norby is ice cold (.108 L14) and several regulars are struggling. Wind from the west at PNC Park is neutral-to-favorable. Ashcraft's elite strikeout rate (9.7 K/9) gives Pittsburgh a meaningful pitching edge.

Bryce Miller is having a dominant stretch (ERA 1.33, WHIP 0.78 over 27 IP) and faces a Washington team that hits RHP poorly (.237/.726). Zack Littell is a clear step down (ERA 4.76, WHIP 1.31, only 39 K in 64.1 IP), while Seattle's lineup hits RHP well (.247/.752) with multiple hot bats (Canzone .381 L14, Young .316 L14, Emerson .271 L14). Seattle's pitching staff is also far superior (ERA 3.59 vs 4.66 team). The 97°F heat and 25% precip create some variance, but the pitching edge is dominant.

Griffin Canning is a liability (ERA 6.34, WHIP 1.47, 0-4) facing a Baltimore lineup that is scorching at 5.6 R/G over the last 10 games with multiple hot bats (Ward .314 L14, Alonso .286 L14, Jackson .306 L14, Alexander .412 L14). San Diego's offense is among the worst in the data — 3.0 R/G over the last 10 games with nearly every hitter struggling. Shane Baz (ERA 4.09) is a modest upgrade but the offensive mismatch is the story here. Camden Yards plays as a hitter's park which further hurts Canning.

This is a true coin flip despite Cleveland's home edge. Flaherty is struggling (ERA 5.31, 1-7) but Detroit has been outstanding recently (6.3 R/G over last 10, multiple hot bats). Tanner Bibee (ERA 4.09, 1-7) is equally disappointing in record terms. Cleveland's offense has gone cold (3.8 R/G last 10) while Detroit is hitting everything. The opposing factors largely cancel out — poor pitching on both sides, Detroit's hot offense vs Cleveland's home advantage. Too messy to commit.

Sonny Gray is excellent (ERA 3.20, WHIP 1.24, 7-1) but Boston's offense is genuinely poor (.688 OPS, 3.91 R/G) and on a 4-game losing streak. Jack Leiter is below average (ERA 4.69) but Texas has been hot (7-3 last 10, W2 streak, 4.4 R/G last 10). Fenway's short dimensions slightly favor both offenses, but the Rangers have a real offensive edge with Jung (.328 L14), Duran (.333 L14), and Higashioka (.293 L14) all hot. Boston's lineup hits RHP poorly (.235/.668 vs RHP), which compounds the concern. At +109, the Rangers carry slight value.

Both teams are struggling — Arizona is 3-7 in the last 10 with only 2.5 R/G, and Cincinnati is also 3-7 with 3.6 R/G. E-Rod is excellent (ERA 2.52) but Arizona's lineup hits LHP well (.273/.770) which is the opposing pitcher's handedness — however, most of their key bats have gone cold (Marte .155 L14, Carroll .218 L14, Arenado .174 L14). Lodolo is shaky (ERA 5.51) but Cincy hits LHP decently (.230/.738). Near-even game with both offenses in slumps. Pass.

Atlanta is the class of this slate at 45-23 (.662) with a dominant team ERA of 3.20, and Strider (ERA 4.00, WHIP 1.28, 43 K in 36 IP) provides elite strikeout upside. The Mets are 30-38 with a weak lineup (.658 OPS, 4.0 R/G) that hits RHP poorly (.229/.658). New York's McLean is solid (ERA 3.98, WHIP 1.11) but Atlanta's lineup (.259/.757 vs RHP) and sheer talent gap — Olson (.304 L14), Harris II (.345 L14), Albies (.302 L14) — make the Braves the clear team quality pick. The +105 line provides excellent value for the best team in baseball.

The Yankees (41-26) are on a 4-game win streak with a strong offense (5.4 R/G last 10, OPS .763) and excellent pitching (team ERA 3.27). Toronto's starter is TBD — a significant unknown — and their lineup hits LHP poorly (.217/.645 vs LHP), which is the handedness of Weathers (ERA 3.86, WHIP 1.16, 79 K in 70 IP). Ben Rice (1.006 OPS, .333 L14), Goldschmidt (.339 L14), Grisham (.333 L14), and McMahon (.308 L14) are all hot. The TBD starter for Toronto is a meaningful edge for New York.

The Dodgers (44-25) are one of baseball's best teams with a dominant offense (OPS .789, 5.9 R/G last 10) and the sport's best pitching staff (ERA 3.28). Shohei Ohtani is on a historic tear (.411 L14), Freeman is hot (.345 L14), and the lineup as a whole is elite. Sasaki (ERA 4.03) faces a White Sox team that hits RHP at .242/.729, while the Dodgers hit LHP well (.249/.748) against Kay (ERA 4.40, WHIP 1.45). Chicago is a surprising 36-31 but this is a clear class mismatch. Wind from the west at Rate Field plays neutral.

This is the clearest edge on the slate. Misiorowski is having one of the best seasons in baseball (ERA 1.50, WHIP 0.81, 116 K in 78 IP) while Painter is a disaster (ERA 6.21, WHIP 1.57, 1-7). Milwaukee's offense is on a scorching stretch (8.4 R/G over the last 10 games, .313/.931 as a team) and hits RHP well (.261/.754). The Brewers are also a better team overall (41-25, ERA 3.47). The only hesitation is the -251 price, but the performance gap across pitching and recent offensive form is overwhelming.

Both starters are shaky — Imai (ERA 5.24, small sample) and Avila (ERA 4.02, WHIP 1.60, 28 K in 31 IP). Houston has Yordan Alvarez (.367 L14, 1.066 OPS) as a dominant force, but the team is 31-39 and struggling. Kansas City is 28-41 but has gone 6-4 in the last 10 with a 4.8 R/G. The records and recent form essentially mirror each other with poor pitching on both sides. Avila's poor WHIP (1.60) is concerning but so is Imai's ERA. No compelling lean either direction.

Joe Ryan is excellent (ERA 3.07, WHIP 1.00, 84 K in 76.1 IP) but Minnesota's team is 31-39 and struggling (4-6 last 10). St. Louis (37-29, 7-3 last 10) is playing their best baseball of the season with 5.6 R/G over the last 10 and a potent lineup — Walker (.317 L14, .919 OPS), Burleson (.298 L14), Fermín (.316 L14). Kyle Leahy's ERA 4.42 vs Ryan's 3.07 is a real gap, but the Cardinals' offensive hot streak and overall team quality at +114 gives them compelling value against a fading Twins squad.

Shane McClanahan is among the best starters on this slate (ERA 2.85, WHIP 1.10, 6-3) and faces an Angels team that is 27-42 with a bloated ERA (4.68). Aldegheri has a pretty ERA (2.25) but only 12 innings of evidence — an extremely small sample. Tampa Bay is 40-25 with one of the better records in baseball, and their offense features Yandy Díaz (.389 L14, .940 OPS) and Caminero (.327 L14). The Angels do have some hot bats (Siri .344 L14, Donovan Walton .300 L14) but the quality gap between McClanahan and Aldegheri is significant.

Colorado's starter is TBD — a massive pitching disadvantage against an Athletics team that is playing well (5.4 R/G last 10, .825 OPS last 10) with dangerous bats in Kurtz (.967 OPS, .275 L14), Soderstrom (.400 L14), and Gelof (.345 L14). The Rockies are 26-43 and have a staff ERA of 5.56. Jump's sample is small (18.1 IP, ERA 2.45) but the Rockies' TBD situation and team quality gap strongly favor Oakland. The 98°F Las Vegas heat and potential offensive environment actually add concern about run-scoring for both sides.

San Francisco is 5-5 last 10 and has been torching the ball recently (5.7 R/G last 10, .291/.854 as a team) with multiple hot bats (Lee .561 L14, Eldridge .408 L14, Chapman .373 L14). However, the Giants are only 28-41 overall. Chicago's Assad has a low WHIP (1.08) but limited innings (32.1). The Cubs hit RHP modestly (.236/.725) while SF also hits RHP well (.258/.731). Assad's WHIP advantage is offset by Roupp's superior K rate. Oracle Park's suppressive environment and cool 60°F temperatures with westerly winds push this toward a pitcher's duel. Too close to call.
