Clay Holmes has been excellent in 2026 with a 2.86 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, providing a clear pitching edge over Liberatore (5.15 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). The Cubs lineup hits .270/.806 vs LHP — a significant split advantage against Liberatore. Chicago is 8-2 in their last 10, scoring 6.4 R/G over their last 10 games, and multiple key hitters (Bregman, Hoerner) are hot. The price at -181 is notable but the matchup edges are real and multi-layered.

This is a genuine ace duel with Alcantara (3.52 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 13-6) and Burns (2.61 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 13-2, 143 Ks in 124 IP) both pitching at a high level. Burns has the slight edge in ERA/K rate, but Miami's offense is significantly colder than their season averages (4.1 R/G in last 10 vs 4.39 season). Cincinnati's lineup is also struggling at .200/.674 over the last 10 games. With elite pitching on both sides and both offenses underperforming, this is too coin-flip to take a side.

Jake Bennett has been sharp in 2026 with a 3.17 ERA and 1.04 WHIP — a significant edge over Bubba Chandler (4.26 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). Boston's offense is red-hot over the last 10 games (6.4 R/G, .290/.829) and their team ERA of 3.48 is among the best in the league. Pittsburgh is just 3-7 in their last 10 with only 3.9 R/G in that same span, and several key hitters are cold. At -119, this is manageable value.

Jackson Jobe has a microscopic sample (5 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP) making it nearly impossible to evaluate reliably — the ERA/WHIP are clearly not predictive over such a small sample. Newcomb has been solid (2.66 ERA, 1.13 WHIP in 64.1 IP) but Detroit's lineup hits only .233/.703 vs LHP. Detroit is 7-3 in their last 10 and has real offensive momentum (5.8 R/G last 10), but Jobe's true quality is an unknown. Too much uncertainty around the home starter to commit.

Robert Stock is a disaster waiting to happen: 10.13 ERA, 2.13 WHIP in 8 IP — these numbers are catastrophic even in a small sample. Washington's offense averages 5.38 R/G and posts a .769 team OPS, one of the better marks in the league. Alvarez (3.76 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) is average but vastly superior to Stock. At +105, the Nationals represent genuine moneyline value given the massive pitching gap favoring the visitor.

San Diego is on a 5-game winning streak and 7-3 in their last 10, with genuine offensive momentum. Gavin Williams is excellent (3.55 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 185 Ks in 144.2 IP) and Cleveland has better ERA marks, but Cleveland is only 3-7 in their last 10 with a poor R/G in that span. Michael King is solid (3.37 ERA, 1.17 WHIP), and at +119 the Padres offer slight positive moneyline value. The pitching is fairly even so this is a modest lean rather than a strong play.

Tampa Bay is the best team in this slate at 74-46 (.617) and riding a 9-game winning streak with 6.6 R/G in their last 10 games — clearly the stronger team. However, Steven Matz (5.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) is a significant pitching concern, and Baltimore's starter is TBD, making full pitching evaluation impossible. The Rays' price of -161 also carries slight negative value. The team quality gap is real but the pitching uncertainty and odds make this a pass.

Atlanta is a strong team at 73-48 with a 2-game winning streak and solid metrics across the board. However, the home pitcher is TBD, making it impossible to assess the pitching matchup — the dominant 40% factor. Pfaadt has been solid (3.36 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) but Arizona's offense is middling. Without a confirmed Atlanta starter, this game cannot be confidently evaluated and the -187 price is also significant negative value requiring an overwhelming edge.

Gerrit Cole (3.35 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 87 Ks in 80.2 IP) provides a clear and meaningful pitching edge over Shane Bieber (5.48 ERA, 1.66 WHIP in 42.2 IP) — Bieber has been poor this season. New York's team ERA of 3.28 is excellent, and even though the Yankees' offense has been cold lately (3.5 R/G in last 10), their quality is significantly higher than Toronto's weak lineup (.678 OPS, 3.92 R/G). Toronto has a decent vs-RHP split but their overall caliber trails New York at -142, which is neutral-to-slight value range.

Seattle's offense is in freefall — only 2.2 R/G in their last 10 games, a team .130 AVG at the bottom of the lineup (Rivas), and multiple ice-cold hitters throughout. George Kirby (3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) is solid but Houston's Peter Lambert (3.09 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) has the slight edge. Houston's offense features Yordan Alvarez (1.057 OPS, 35 HR) but the Astros are also running cold (3.8 R/G in last 10). Both teams are middling and the offensive concerns on Seattle's side are severe enough to avoid the visitor, but Houston isn't inspiring either.

Both teams are among the worst in the league — Kansas City (49-73) and the Angels (48-74) — and both offenses are cold (KC 3.7 R/G, LAA 3.0 R/G in last 10). Grayson Rodriguez has been terrible (7.20 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) giving KC a pitching edge, but Seth Lugo (4.41 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) isn't inspiring either and Kansas City is on a 4-game losing streak going 3-7 in their last 10. With two bad teams, poor form on both sides, and a roughly neutral moneyline, there's nothing to grab onto here.

Oakland's starter is TBD with a 5.51 ERA and 1.51 WHIP at the team level — the worst pitching staff on this slate. Texas has Kumar Rocker (4.46 ERA, 1.38 WHIP), who isn't elite but is a known commodity against a team that has gone 2-8 in their last 10 and is on a 3-game losing streak. The Athletics offense is mediocre and the team ERA suggests their bullpen won't bail them out. Texas is on a losing streak too and their offense is cold, but at +104 (slight positive value) and facing an unknown/poor starter, this is a marginal lean.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is having a superb season (2.65 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 127 Ks in 139.1 IP) and clearly outmatches Gasser (4.57 ERA, 1.22 WHIP). The Dodgers lineup with Ohtani (.292/.935), Freeman (.304/.848), and Betts heating up is formidable. However, the Dodgers are only 4-6 in their last 10 and scoring just 3.8 R/G in that span, and Milwaukee is actually the stronger team by record (75-47 vs 73-49). At -176, the price is significant negative value. The Yamamoto edge is real but the Dodgers' offensive cold streak and steep price make this a pass — the data doesn't overwhelmingly support laying -176.

Both teams are deeply below .500 with poor pitching — Freeland has a 6.63 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, while Roupp is at 4.22 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in a neutral matchup. San Francisco's offense is ice cold (2.7 R/G in last 10, .185/.567 in that span) and they hit .239/.664 vs LHP — a poor split against Freeland. Colorado's offense is more active recently (4.7 R/G in last 10) but their pitching is a disaster. The Giants' severe offensive cold streak makes them difficult to back as a home favorite at -124, and Colorado's pitching is too poor to back the visitor.
